Nia Okonkwo Studio
I build furniture and interior millwork where tolerance matters. Rather than handing over generic 3D renderings, I produce clear, constructible drawing sets and stay on the shop floor through glue-up, assembly, and on-site scribing.
Designed from the joint outward.
Furniture fails at the transitions. The glue joint that ignored seasonal movement. The wall scribe that assumed a ninety-degree corner. The hardware nobody can service twenty years later.
So the work starts at the joint. A piece is drawn so it can be taken apart, adjusted and repaired years later, by me or by whoever has it then.
What happens on the shop floor.
Site measuring
The room gets measured before a drawing starts, so out-of-plumb walls, ceiling dips and floor deflection are numbers on the page instead of surprises on install day.
Milling and thicknessing
Rough boards are flattened and brought to thickness in the shop, so every reference face starts true.
Mechanical joinery
Deep tenons and steel knock-down connectors, so a structural joint survives being moved more than once.
